It's really hard to define the best play because there are different kinds on poker games but Phil is deffinitely on of the best allround players.
Phil Ivey is the best poker player in my opinion.
What do you think?
It's really hard to define the best play because there are different kinds on poker games but Phil is deffinitely on of the best allround players.
Well, Its really hard to say who is the best. There are so many players with different-2 game amd their strategy. I agree with Szury.
To my mind it's Chris Ferguson! 25 WSOP final tables, 5 WSOP bracelets, over $6 million earnings. And he really looks like Jesus!
Best Player in the World: Phil Helmuth Jr. Yeah, I mean it. I might not like him, or his attitude, but there's no denying that Phil is one of the best players in the world.
Best Poker Face: Chris Ferguson. Has the same face and the same act no matter if he's bluffing or has the nuts.
Best Bluffer: Sam Farha. Don't get into a pot with Sammy. He'll take you down, whether he has cards or not.
Luckiest Pro Poker Player: Jamie Gold. He's have not won the 2007 Main Event if it wasn't for luck. Every pair of cards he played were golden, despite how good or bad they were.

Undoubtedly the best poker player is Phil Ivey, becoz he is mah favourite..![]()
Really, ATE is so saddened that THIS is what has become of the poker discussion world. I mean, who gives a CARP (R and A inverted )
about this. This is a subject that has been REHASHED for the last eight or so years.
I'm sick of these @%^#$% gossipy threads! What has happened to the REAL poker threads! What you people SHOULD be asking, is "How can I still make money, in the SUPER TOUGH no internet poker world of 2011."? "What is the minimum game that the freakin' rake can be overcome" "how do I start a home game" "Hey Adam, what's the best way to cook prime rib at my home game"
Not these freakin' posts who belong on TMZ, not a poker discussion site. By the way, this absolutely is NOT picking on the person who asked this, but a general Rant/Diss about the decline of serious POKER discussion.
Ok, so let's have the CORRECT answer.
As I wrote in my classic article on this subject, the best poker player in the world, is not and will never be known. Hint: it is NONE of the names listed in any of the responces. And, it is not anyone that is part of the KNOWN poker world.
Adam the Expert gets a g ood chuckle when I see people talking about the best player, then proceed to list KNOWN players.
The best poker player in the world, is NOT a known player. And, they take great steps to NOT be known. Whoever it is, they play in the biggest PRIVATE games in the world, and are very adept at appearing to just be some rich live one dude, that gets lucky. They will never show any trappings of having wealth, such as expensive watches, clothes, etc. Travel the world, very very rarely playing in a live casino,k and CERTAINLY not on TV!! Or in a tournament.
Had internet poker not taking a flying dive into a shallow pool, it is likely that one of the younger "known" player would eventually get good enough to surpass our mystery best player. But, they just have not been around long enough. You see, most of the people you THINK are great players, are not. They are just great at being a POKER CHARACTER. Which paid more than being a great player, even after taxes. Without the money endorsing online poker sites, it will no longer be profitable enough for most of them to be poker characters, and they sure as SHIP don't play well enough to actually make in the the REAL poker world.
Freakin' IDIOTS! I mean,k watching things like HIGH STAKES poker, it's like the b lind leading the blind! Only about ten percent of those I've watched, have any clue. But OH, if you are someone that the world wants to WATCH, how the endorsement and merhandising money just FLEW!
Phil Ivey has many flaws, and simply cannot be considered the best player. He may be the most EFFECTIVE player, simply by virtue that he probably IS the hardest working player. He was nice to my brother, when he dealt to him in Mississippi, so I certainly do not have anything bad to say about him. But, he IS very good at recognizing the fear that most people have of him, and taking advantage of said fear. He's simply too young for anyone to even THINK that he's the best player. Poker instincts take decades to fully develop, and like I said I 've watched too many serious flaws in many of his decisions. Maybe if he trained with me . . . . ..
So, please, get some REAL questions, and stop with the STAR STRUCK, gossip questions.
It is very deficult to say who is the best player of poker. Phil Ivey is known as a favourit player.
there is no doubt I am the best poker player![]()
